CHAMOIS

PYRENEAN AND CANTABRIAN CHAMOIS

In Spain we find 2 types of chamois: Pyrenean (the biggest one) and the Cantabrian chamois. Both are very nice and fun to hunt, the Cantabrian may be a little bit more difficult but we have easy access areas for those hunters that can´t or don´t want to walk.
We have a good number of areas for both chamois.  For the Pyrenean we can hunt them either in the province of Huesca or in the province of Barcelona.   Regarding the Cantabrian chamois we have areas in Castilla Leon, Cantabria and Asturias.
Both chamois are very similar, the differences are in the size of their horns and body size, being the Pyrenean the largest of both.  The Cantabrian is probably the smallest one of all the chamois around the world.
We can expect good trophies for both of them.
For accomodation we use nice small hotels in the local villages.  During the hunting most of the times we take the food with us to the mountains but sometimes we have enough time to go down to some of the local restaurants.
